About This Blog
It is an expression we use in welcoming guests and a way of showing hospitality in my native country.
I’m Xavier Tilos Villagonzalo from the PHILIPPINES. For someone like me who’s jumped over the fence—from the realms of journalism to the perplexed field of Information Technology—I found Brisbane to be the best place to furthering my education. Make it yours too!
Currently pursuing I.T. at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia after finishing, not at all a distant field of Bachelor of Mass Communication at Silliman University, Philippines.
This blog aims to explore the glory of Enterprise 2.0 and the grandeur of Web 2.0 in our fast-paced world.
Whilst being a student, I also participate in a year-long Brisbane International Student Ambassadorship program
managed by Brisbane Marketing’s Study Brisbane, it is dedicated to advance the development of Brisbane’s international student sector, thereby, spreading the word that Brisbane is a new world city offering world-class education opportunities.
This appointment by Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman (now succeeded by Cr Graham Quirk) would provide me a unique opportunity to liaise with fellow countrymen in the Philippines and other countries to encourage them that this city is capable of training world-class citizens.
On a more personal note, this also provided me a beautiful trajectory from the child that I was and be able to serve as a conduit to bring out my innate passion to share the story of it in the hope of inspiring.
This very same passion was supported with an article by the dean of the College of Mass Communication at Silliman University, Dr. Ma. Cecilia M. Genove, in a local publication, The Negros Chronicle article here:
Check out the story of my journey leading to Brisbane, Australia through pictures or read up the news article from Philippine Information Agency (Negros Oriental): Negrense named youth ambassador to Australia.
